flash geturl post to asp

Hi guys, im am trying to send a variable from a flash app to a webpage using getURL. When using getURL i have written this.
getURL("http://page.com","","POST")
Now i would assume this to open the page with the variable in the background as a post variable. Therefor not visible in the URL. But i appear to be wrong. my page seems to open up like this.. [page.com?var=data...]

why is this? I would understand this if i had set the geturl to be GET but i havent. If what i am trying to do is not possible this way has anybody got an idea how i can send a variable to a page without it being seen?

This should be working as you want, so I'm not sure what's going on here. Have you figured this out yet?

I feel like you should also set the second parameter for correctness, too:

getURL("http://page.com","_self","POST");
