css swap using javascript within flash?

Hi guys, im wondering, is it possible to call to an id that is outside of flash using javascript within the flash?

for example i have <div id="test"></div>
can i right javascript on a button inside flash that would normally be onClick="test.id='test2'" on a html button?

basically id like to be able to swap css styles for an id when a flash button is clicked.

any help would be muchly appreciated,
