How to pause and then play a scene

Hi having a hair pulling out time - can anyone help me?

I'm building a flash website, and i have a window that opens up from the homepage - so far so good. But the problem is that i can get the window to open and then stop (with action script) but how do i get it to so viewers can read the text in the window, and then when there done and ready to close the window, they can click a button and it'll trigger the fade/animation that i have in the scene and return them back to the page they came from?

is there some natty actionscript that can do this?

I hope someone can save me :)
