Loading SWF prevents DIV from expanding

I'm a newbie at this, so sorry if this is a stupid qustion:

I have a flash movie embeded into a hidden DIV. When I browse to the
page at first and click on a link that usually expands that DIV
( makes it visible ) - it does not work until the SWF is fully
uploaded into my browser. How can I fix that?
