I would like to create a movie clip that I can then reuse a few times thruout my movie. How do I insert it into my movie? When I just drag and drop it from the library nothing happens. Any pointers? Thanks....

You should be able to drag it to the stage. Perhaps you are dragging to a locked layer (you must select an unlocked layer to drag to in the timeline). Or maybe there is an empty frame in the first frame of your clip that you can't see until you test the movie (ctrl-enter). I don't see why you couldn't do it otherwise from the info you've given. Can you see the clip run in the preview pane of the library? Click the play button in there. If you can't see it, your movie clip is empty.
