What's The Verdict On Video In Flash Pro?

Just wondered if anybody was using the new functionality in Flash Professional to integrate video?

Am I right in thinking that one of the big advantages is that the video is regarded as a 'Flash file' and therefore if somebody has the Flash plugin they can view the video without requiring an additional, system dependant video helper application?

Typically, I would want to use a solution for taking video clips of a clients machinery and showing it in operation - so no 'live' broadcast streaming etc. These clips would ideally be contained within, or accessed via a pop-up window, from a HTML page.

One of the things that has put me off is the decisions you have to make regarding the platforms/systems the visitors will be using (Mac, PC, etc.) the choice and configuration required for the helper applications etc.

If it's 'Flash', regardless of the content, doesn't make this video more 'accessible'? Finally, does anybody have any thoughts on the relative file sizes and image quality produced by Flash as opposed to pure MPEG etc.

Thanks in advance.
