Hi,

I have a 3 minutes DVD that I want to convert to a small FLASH movie (or flv) to have at homepage. The window doesn't have to be bigger than 300x300 pixels.

We are not going to use streaming any more (wmv-file before that didn't work good in other browsers or systems).

How should I convert the movie? From the DVD? I can maybe get a copy of the wmv-file from our current streaming partner...

Any suggestions? Which program to use? Which format to convert to?

You will need a video encoder to convert the DVD.

There are many available. The ones that work the best are somewhat expensive. Adobe Premiere 2 can do what you want but it is a few thousand.

There are "free" encoders out there but they don't always output the best quality files or they limit what you can do in the free version and sometimes only convert 1 minute in the free version or other stuff like that.

Your best bet may be to contact a video editing/creation company and pay them to encode it for you.

I found a solution but I'm not allowed to write it here since "it doesn't align with the HTML Forum Charter or the Terms of Service for WebmasterWorld."

But I can try again - "Super C" from Erightsoft...

Yep! Don't mention it too much...

For your information, it was already mentioned on a similar post.

Hi, I have the same problem with you. But I'm so lucky that find some proper software to fix the issue.
After searching the internet,I got the Sothink Video Encoder and DVD Ripper can do this.
They even give a package named DVD to Flash Video Converter Suite. I'm using it now and haven't yet got any problems.

Hope it would help you too. :P
