Made a .flv file and checked it works with a FLV player utility program.
Inserted the flv file into my web page in DW via Insert / Media / Flash Video
Configure all the settings - placeholder icon shows up on web page.
Upload into a folder on the the server:
Clear_Skin_1.swf
#*$!XX.flv
FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf
#*$!XX.php
When I open the page I only see a whit box where the video is suppose to play.
The info bar at the bottom of the browser page hangs stating: "Read www.#*$!xx.org/" or sometimes gets stuck on "Transfering....."
In IE, upon hovering over the white box ( or clicking in it ) tool tip reads "Press Spacebar or Enter to activate the use of this control"
The site resides on a UNIX server and I am using PHP SSI inclusions to make the site work, but the page in question just has the flv and a paragraph of descriptive text on it.
I searched for answers for 15 hours, and hope someone can help me, i am desperate.
options +indexes
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .html
AddType video/x-flv .flv
AddType video/x-flv flv
AddType application/x-shockwave-flash swf
Also, if i save the file asa an .html flie and try to load it into a browser on my local HD the same blank white box appears.
Is there another way to check the integrity of the .flv file?
Thanks
I have re-exported a .flv file from my .mp4 file and it works.
The First .flv file I made was from the original .wmv file - it played in a FLV Player program fine but once played through the FLVPlayer.....swf on a web page it stalled.
Well there goes 16 hours of my life.
Trouble now is once I convert the .wmv to .mp4 to make it a .flv the mp4 file is scrambled badly towards the begining.
