IE displays Loader images wrongly

Yes, it's that punch to the gut we've all had - when you've spent ages making something splendid, and IE won't display it properly. I didn't even know FF and IE rendered Flash differently, so I'm somewhat bemused by it.

I have a series of Loader elements that load images from a directory. They're basically aligned in a grid; FF displays them properly, but IE shifts half, seemingly randomly, further to the left - messing up the display. This fixes very quickly upon a refresh.

I have however found that the error seems to be due to my opening the Flash in a new window, which is set to the Height x Width of the Flash file. When I view the .swf normally in IE, it displays everything just fine.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this display discrepancy? What do IE and FF render differently in Flash? Thanks.
