a swf file does not need to be in the same folder as the html you are using?

There may be a script needed for the swf file that does, did you create this swf file yourself or is it a download?

you do not link to a swf you have to <object> <embed> it!

embedding a flash file is a simple process in Dreamweaver, click on the flash object button ..

Go through the help files in dreamweaver..

It sounds to me like there is a part of the Fla you do not have, either a file xml, txt etc or perhaps a video file...?

It's all guessing, but what you are asking is a simple process so should have a simple solution...
