don't take this as an insult...
but flash for dummies is a great resource for beginers. Thats the first book i read about flash and it really helped explain some of the software concepts i was having trouble with

totaltraining.com also has solid training material. Very similar to lynda.

lynda.com is an excellent site. I used their book to learn up on it.
