Hi,

I am about to embark on my first significant Flash website development. I have used simple Flash slideshow products before (with very limited functionality) but this time I need something better - at least to be able to insert text effects which appear and disappear at different times and on different parts of the main image. Is this called 'Layering'?

As you can see I am a novice at this. Can anyone recommend some software which is fairly straightforward to use, but which includes sufficient functionality to produce a quality finished product?

Not asking too much I hope!

Cheers.

cornishman ..look for "swish" and products by the same company ..limited trial versions exist ..cheaper than flash and more easy to understand for beginners

then look into using "timelines" in swf / flash files ..

Yes layering divides the complete data into parts and then you can apply different or same timings according to the requirement of the data.

If you are a novice user then in that case you should use Flash User GUide available on there site.
