html syntax for embedding flash with latest version

Is version 6 the latest that should be used with internet explorer?
Im looking at the adobe website,
[adobe.com...]

I need the html markup to embed a flash file into my web page. At present, version 6 is being used with internet explorer and some things arent working the same as in mozilla which has verison 9 player. Id like to force them (IE users) to upgrade to the latest player version. Can someone point me at the right <object> and <embed> syntax and the codebase for the latest player.
