HTML shadow site - Different content to flash site?

Hi,

We have a flex based website (which is effectively flash). We have a shadow HTML site for users (including search engines that cannot view the flash content). We have been told that the HTML site can include different content to the flash site and we won't be blacklisted by the SE's. Can anyone confirm this or prove that this information is false?

Just my thoughts would be that the HTML shadow site could literally be fully of SEO content to increase site rankings.

Many thanks for your time.

Al

Well yes, if you remember to provide links from ALL flash pages to the HTML ones! Also use keywords to your advantage when moving the SE Bot from the flash sites (where people go to) to the HTML version.

I think if it does not have different content you can be nicked for a duplicate content penalty.

But the SE can't see the flash content (yet...) so it can't tell!
