I have this flash menu that works ok in opera and FF but in IE it just doesn't ...I get like an (!) in the left corner of IE
I use a PC!
I also have this problems with FLA files that get scrambled when i reopen them ...is tha a virus or the dodgy flash?

as a new developer i created a flash menu a few weeks ago, i absolutly loved it and didnt want to get rid of it, but in the end it had to go.
i ould advise you to do the same, you will have nothing but problems (unless you are some sort of expert web developer who can get around all the problems faced with flash menu)
flash can cause problems for browsers, not to say people who still have old computers and dont even have flash installed.
if its a flash menu then they will even be able to get round your site.
i know its probably hard but id say from my own experience DITCH the flash menu.
i looked into fixing my own problems, like you said about IE and really rangled with 'should i get rid or not' actually i have a post here somewhere about it when i asked others.
look at post underneath at should i ditch flash menu?

Well I have been thinking anout this (ditching flash menu) bat still half of me just wanna hang on to it for now
I have this old sait have a look here www.galati.bxlxpl.com menu works just fine IE,FF, opera u name it... I know the sait has some resolution issues but other than that it is ok and it has been ok for quite a while!
My sait that I'm working on now (www.romaniasix.com - only the 2 first home links work in FF and opera) This manu is just killing me as it just doesn't wanna work, I'm no expert but I like chalanges and I guess I wanna kill some more time on this one ...on the other hand I've alredy choosen a substitute :)))
For all you guys saying that it hard to crawl a flash site or flash links It might be a good Ideea to make a site map and submit it to google...that way the crawler will know all your pages- just a tip

could not find server of first site,
i do like your romainia site though. the only thing i would say is fix your screen width.
im working on 1024 screen and STILL have to scroll right to get the rest of the site. I like the flash though, can see why you dont want to get rid.
you could not produce that using none flash methods.But if its causing you real problems get rid.
i felt the same as you do about using my sitemap for crawlers, but think its still the best idea to have them crawling from a menu, cant answer why, just un-justifyably think so...he he!

in my experience i can get them built, but getting them into my webpage is for me very difficult. im never sure what im doing wrong but end up giving up.
in the end i got a script from Dynamic drive and am so pleased with it..its fantastic, you need to edit a few things and a bit of css editing but its really easy to use and load.
i cant post you my site as you are now allowed so if you give me a contact or summit i will give you my URL and you can have a look
off to work now.
