I am starting out as a webmaster. One of my clients asked for people to submit photos on her site. How can i buy a photo cropper that i can plug into my site that lets the end user submit photos according to my parameters? is this type of thing bought or can i find it for free?

why dont you just define image size and format standards in your sites instructions and make the users adhear to that. I dont think many sites automatically crop images for a user, you generally give them a format they have to follow, and only accept images that fit that format (ie type, size in MB's, etc..)

another method is to do it on the fly - if your are using PHP, use imagemajik, if using Ruby, use rmajik.....you can find these scripts online...look for things like 'php image resize script'......you can even find ones that will make a new, resized image for you, store it, then discard thwe original.....
