Flash statistics

Any stats on actual usage?

I know that the stats are showing anywhere from 70% to 78% downloads on Flash plugin, discounting Macromedia's stats, of course. However, does anyone know of any stats or articles reflecting satisfaction or comfort level regarding actually sitting through Flash splash pages, etc.? Or is Flash generally something to be avoided? I'm trying to find these type of statistics ... not how many plugins were downloaded. Thanks!

You don't want to begin a website with a flash splash page. This was cool several years ago, but now it is over done and annoying. As far as statistics go i am not sure how many people do it, but i do know how many people don't like it, about 99%.

Perhaps on the home page you can incorporate some of movie you were going to use in the splash.
if you were going to go ahead with the Flash splash page <snip> has quite a few of movie templates for ideas.
