How well can Flash integrate with e-commerce?

Newbie Flash question

One of my clients have a very interesting idea. I am not sure how easy it is to develop it using Flash.

Visitors will be offered to drag items into the box (shopping cart). It's a good idea for his sector of activity.

Once the box is full how easy it is to process the order? Can Flash "talk" with a database?

I'm pretty sure it can, have a look at activescripting. I have a friend that was using flash and integrating xml calls into it. ;) But that's another story eh? :)

you can use loadVars and getURL to pretty easily send and retrieve info from a database via php. once you get the hang of those bits of actionscript youll be set.

Mac it is pretty easy once you get the hang of flash. I would like to point out that there is a possability of losing sales if flash is not loaded or disabled. I would want some sort of nonflash shopping ability with it.

korkus2000, the site already have a standard form based shopping ability, the flash gizmo would be an addition to it. I think it will be a great tool since the visual aspect has some importance. It's not the actual topic, but it can be easily compared with crafting a flower bouquet.
