New Flash user

Starting problems

Hello,
I am totally new to using Flash. I need to create a whiteboard with freehand drawing functionality, etc. Is there a way to do it without using actionscript? I am looking at the whiteboard example on the Macromedia website, but have not been able to understand how to add to it.

The best advice that I can give you is to learn to walk before you run. I haven't seen the Macromedia whiteboard example but I doubt that it can be done without actionscript.

Get to grips with the basic principles of Flash, frames, timelines, tweening, etc. Then dive into some actionscript, straightforward at first and then more complex. It's the power of actionscript that is the real beauty of Flash.

You have to use ActionScript if you want users to draw on your board.
