were you sent some html along with the flsh movie? It sounds like there may be more to it than flsh.

What I get from reading your post the Flash file you recieved is an already published Flash movie exported as a .exe. What this means is that it is a stand-alone application. By stand alone I mean that it is desktop capable without the need to view it inside of your browser. However, I believe you would still need the stand-alone Flash player, but not entirely sure on that.

You would need some kind of Flash de-coder in order view the structure of the file. There a few out there. If you decide to get one, be sure it has the functions you need. Some are only able to de-code the animations and images but not the ActionScript if there was any.

Hope this helps,

That makes total sence, the guy who created done so just to email as a demonstration, but due to te nature of it, it would fit perfectly on my site, However i have found that i can link to it as a download, but as for embeding in the page may not be aa good idea as it is 858kb in size. But your reply is very useful as at least i now know what a .exe flash file is.

Just tried some software that de-codes from .exe to .fla but when opened in flash all it will do is play it the timeline and tools are not visible, so i presume this is what you mean by some not decoding the action script. can you recommend and that will convert the lot so i can get to the stage of publishing it for the web. Thanks again Ian
