Mozilla has extended its agreement to retain Google as the default search provider for another three years.

A Mozilla spokesperson has overnight confirmed to me that Mozilla has a new deal in place with Google. “We've recently extended the partnership, and the relationship isn't changing,” the spokesperson confirmed in a written statement.

At least FF is probably the easiest browser I've ever met for adding multiple search options.

Chuckles.

FF has honored my choice of search default over the many upgrades. :)

(It's not g)

But it makes good sense with g's market penetration for Moz to re-up for another three years.

In general, any FF settings you make will carry over to all upgrades, unless it involves a no-longer-supported plugin. So yeah, you don't have to tell them over and over again “No! No! Not Google! Anything but Google!”

... although you do have to tell them over and over again, every single day*, “Yes I do need to run Flash on this specific site, just like I said yesterday and the day before and the day before that.”

* It is probably triggered by quit-and-restart, since I don’t wipe cookies daily but do shut down the computer.

Cookies ... heh!

I think there are about five I keep, the rest get nuked daily.

Seems like (appearances, I don't have numbers) that the number of cookies each day is greater now than pre-GDPR. (sigh)
