Mozilla's Firefox v75 gets an upgraded address bar which should make it easier to find sites and services.

The address bar drop down shows the user's most visited sites, with a highlight if it's already open in a tab, enabling a jump to that open tab.

Fonts in the address bar are larger and easier to see, and will show most popular sites to search.

It's also showing auto complete entries.

Here are the release notes for the full list of changes.

Heh.

In accessibility mode (high contrast) there is no change in appearance.

Very odd effect. When you open a new window or tab, the address bar is slightly oversized, partly obscuring anything you may have in the bookmarks bar directly below. But once the address bar has been populated, it goes back to its proper size.

:: noting with dismay that, if the dropdown can be believed, Amazon search is one of my 8 most frequent visits (over what time period?) ::

Nah ... it's all based on your history ... I tested that by deleting current history for "x" site and the drop down cleaned up immediately. :)
