Hi,

I am getting a security warning on a site when trying to optin.
The message popping up says "The Data is being transferred to an unsecure website
and may be read by others"

On Internet explorer the message does not show.

Anyone a clue?

Thanks

Well, it sounds as if your personal data is/are* being routed via a third-party website, which happens not to be secure.

Just a wild guess, mind you. But thoughtful of FF to tell you.

The question is, does this get filed under Irony, Paradox, or some other category that I can’t think of at the moment.

* Fun fact: When the word “agenda” first showed up in English, in the first part of the 20th century, it was grammatically plural.

Try purging all cache & website data in Firefox privacy settings. FF may have old data.

As a FYI - do not use IE anymore. The security is no longer up to date. Use Edge instead.

The FF warning is there because that is exactly what will happen if you proceed. You can override the warning and continue, but your data will be exposed along the way.

Thanks a lot, people keep telling me not to use FF at all. And so did my hosting support when I ask them about the issue :)

FF is a great browser and was the first to support developers adding extensions. This gained them high marks with techies. Mozilla, owners of FF, is an industry leader developing web standards and user security.

However, IMO a web developer should be getting the same web experience as most of their website visitors. They are not using FF.

Most use Chrome, Edge and Safari.
