Mozilla will release the first tech demo of Servo, its next-generation browser engine, in June

In just three months, Mozilla will ask developers to try out Servo, its new browser engine.
...
“Along with the tech demo of Servo, we will be including a proof-of-concept browser UI, written entirely in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, called Browser.html,” Moffitt added. “This new UI includes many rich animations and interactions that you would find in native applications but that don’t always perform well in current browsers. Browser.html is a great test case for Servo’s technology platform and a showpiece for what’s possible with the new technology.”

This looks an interesting demo, when it gets here. Browsers ought to be brought up-to-date when there are major shifts in tech, and over the last few years we've seen a few, but mainly developments in existing browsers. Microsoft Edge was the last significant change, and prior to that it was Chrome, which was a few years back. I don't think Chrome has stood still, but it's a perception of new that might be lacking.
