All my add-ons have gone!

i rarely use firefox, but i do use it for a couple of the add-ons ... like user agent switcher and firebug

but today they have all gone! also some rediculous new features have been included - like if i open a new tab - adverts show(eg 'suggested' sites) ... easily switched off but all the same.

my menu bar also disappeared - yes i've restored it

has firefox become a joke - or am i missing the point.

It can be a big shock if you don't use it much - it is scheduled to become even less of what people use FF for. See [webmasterworld.com...] for some of the news. Plugins are gone in 42.0 but not extensions. My "User Agent Overrider" plugin shows a mouseover: User Agent Overrider not working now... right next to the smiley face.

It is open source and there is at least one interesting fork [palemoon.org ] I have not tried it yet because it is not in the repos, but it looks increasingly attractive.
