Mozilla has said the preview is being released in only one country right now, for user feedback before rolling out to a wider audience. It looks as if it's early days and new features will be added before the preview rolls out further.
Today we are delighted to begin the roll out in New Zealand of our first public preview version of a Firefox browser for iOS. Firefox for iOS Preview [blog.mozilla.org]

I have been using Firefox on Android for so long I forgot that they haven't had a working iOS version all this time. On Android it was one of the first browsers to support extensions. It's really handy to have an Ad Blocker on your mobile browser.

One of my buddies "down under" has reported an "okay" but nothing approaching "awe and wonder". But then again, these are early days.

I often wondered why Firefox wasnt rolled out for Ios sooner. I suspect the Apple walled garden may have been seen as a barrier. its good to have choice on mobile.
