Firefox is now up to 15 so 14 is still out of date. Set it to update automatically (you can still tell it to notify instead of re-start).
Why would you want to install a google toolbar? Do you really want G to know everything you do, every bank etc web site you visit, every login page?
My advice would be: Run away! :)

There are a number of plug ins that can do most of the Google Toolbar's function without leaking privacy info to Google.
I have Page Rank Checker 0.0.2 installed to give me green/grey site info.

Remove updated Firefox version and add 3.6.28 version for Firefox. Google toolbar is continued in your Firefox if you had not removed Google Toolbar.
