Firefox bookmarks gone everytime I reopen firefox

plus it brings me back to the welcome to firefox page

I've been looking on every message board to see if someone has a solution to this problem and finally decided to post. It started this morning, every time I close the firefox window everything resets again, I get the welcome to firefox page that claims it wont show up again, but it always does and all my bookmarks are gone. Its really annoying having to re-import my bookmarks every time I open firefox. I've tried removing the program from my computer and then redownloading firefox but the problem remains.

The problem is with your Firefox profile not with the installation of the program itself. It sounds as though the imported data is either not being saved or that a new profile is created each time.

The first step would be either to create a competely new profile, or delete the old one. If the problem continues, then you may not have the appropriate permissions to write to the directory where your profile resides.
