This has been bugging me for some time. When I do searches for keywords in firefox I get much different results than I do in IE. Example using google as the search engine in both cases widgets might be 4th in google using firefox and not even be on the top 50 using IE. This is the case for almost every keyword I search for. Is there a ryme or reason for this. I know there are a number of servers for google in the US but these results have been going on for more than 3 months. The keywords are in very specific niches with results usually being less than 1 mill search results.

Bing also shows the same type of results

Yep - browser detection is one of the ways that search engines test variations on their algorithms.
