Is there a way to disable Javascript for tracking only? A website I have to use all the time for work has both Google analyctics and Webtrendslive and is slowing down browsing speed. It is slowing down long enough for me to read the tracking url in the status bar in the bottom left corner on my mac Firefox, but blazes through on a PC Internet explorer.

For Firefox, there is a superb add-on called NoScript with which you can (very easily) grant or deny permissions to any domain (e.g. Google Analytics)

It caught GG analyctics easily. For some reason it won't block out statse.webtrendslive.com though.

Thank you for the link Lavazza. It sped up the site a lot. It looks like GG was the major slowdown, webtrends stats are still on and need to load, but the site moves at a much quicker pace.

You can use the AdBlock extension to block all calls to certain servers. I systematically block HTTP requests by Firefox to both of those services.

Or you can use a freeware program like Hostsman to block hosts you don't want by editing your Windows Hosts file.

Example:

127.0.0.1 webtrendslive.com#[SmartSource Data Collector]
