Firefox serving up wrong page

when domain is already resolving

I bought a couple new domains yesterday at godaddy, now normally (and in this case with IE) if you type the full address in h@@p://example.com when the name starts resolving you get a godaddy parked page until you change servers.

But I am not getting gdaddys park page in Firefox ..instead they are pointing to other websites (on keyword target also)

I checked wayback thinking maybe the domains were dropped froma previous website..nope thats not the case (couldnt be that lucky to start off with fresh traffic on a whim registration) ..clean names.

So either I have a page swapping virus on FireFoz or Firefoz has taken it upon themselves to steal any possible traffic by diverting traffic.

I'llstar sweepping for adware and other viruses.. just looking tro see if anyone else has seen this yet and can give me a difinitive.

I have experienced similar with domain-parking pages in the past -- it seems that they can get aggressively cached by either the browser or an upstream proxy (often transparent to you - i.e. it won't be set up in your browser's settings).

Pressing shift-refresh(f5) or ctrl-refresh(f5) -- or was it alt-refresh? -- can sometimes fix the problem, or otherwise you have to wait until the caches expire their erroneous content.

I know people who have NTL as their ADSL provider (I'm in the UK) and they have problems with an upstream transparent cache, whereas if you have BT as your ADSL provider, either they don't have a cache (hard to tell if it works properly), or their cache is setup correctly - or at least isn't as aggressive in its behaviour.

Obviously, your problem may be caused by something else entirely! But I've had similar sounding problems in the past, so I thought I'd share my thoughts...
