IE keeps opening pages in Firefox!?

For some reason IE keeps opening any links I open via the address bar or File/Open. Even if I set IE as the default browser it keeps doing this! I have IE6 as my system IE currently and have no plans to use IE7 for my system IE (using standalone).

Check Folder options>file types
and see if web page extentions are assigned to IE
Also two things: why do you bother mentioning IE7? doesn't that have nothing to do with your issue?
Secondly, I'd appreciate some better grammar, because I can't really understand everything you are saying.
