One of the features of Opera - I just *can't live without* is Mouse Gestures. Once mastered, they speed up browsing by atleast 50%. Browsing without gestures, is like throwing out an anchor.

I've tried the mozilla attempt at mouse gestures several times, and they were rather buggy (too be kind).

They seem to be rather stable today ontop of Firefox. I have been using them for about an hour and I am so glad they finally ripped off Opera with the actual motion so there isn't a relearning to them.

Back in the pre Firefox days, I used Opera 6 for a while and learned to love the mouse gestures. It was one of the things I had to give up when switching to Firefox (which I prefer for other reasons), and the available extensions never worked well enough for me to keep them.

Are you using Firefox 2.0? It would be great if they would integrate this feature into the browser core instead on having to rely on an extension for such an incredibly useful feature.

Never tried them. What do they do or how do they work? Is the actual "Mouse Gestures" extension/add-on that you have implemented, Brett?

google it ;-) It is a moz addon...

Right click, hold, move mouse down and then to right in an l shape. Now release. That closes window...etc Pretty slick for surfing. It is like macros for you mouse.

now...if I could just figure out how to turn on and off the!$%# flash.

I realize that much! I was asking if you were specifically referring to the "Mouse Gestures" add-on as there are at least 6 different options available when it comes to mouse gestures add-ons. I'll assume that is a "yes" ;)

Turn on and off Flash? Try the "Preferences Toolbar", or more commonly known as "PrefBar".

I'm a fan of All-in-One Gestures on FF. It's the closest to Opera I could find with FF 1.5.

I use the FlashBlock extension. It's a real sanity saver.

Me too. Can't live without it. But sometimes i get "unexpected result" (maybe it is a feature).

For example if I open new tab I draw RIGHT-UP. If gesture ends on a link that link opens in new tab (instead of opening blank tab). That way I sometimes inadvertently click adsense ads :(

All-n-all it has been working good. I am surprised by how transparent they are.
