Problem opening https: site please help

I'm using firefox version 1.5.0.6 I'm not able to access a https:// site. what is the reason? Will I have to change any of the browser settings? Can anyone help me please?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld arin2u, and sorry it took so long to get a reply to your question.

If no https sites display at all, it could be because you either have a build of Firefox with SSL disabled (unlikely), or that your installation is somehow corrupted. Have you tried a reinstall (rather than an upgrade)?

When you try to visit a secure site, do you get a security or certificate warning, a blank page or does the link just do nothing?
