So far, I've checked this on 64bit and 32bit Linux .. and got either-or marginal results on Windows.

Has anyone noticed this? .. Page loading hangs with pages that have Adsense or pages including embedded YouTube Videos via iFrame.

Same happens whether or not Unity integration is enabled or not - and regardless of whether or not the Ad-Blocker is on or off in Windows.

Results are the same regardless of Plugins/Extensions on or off.
Install/Uninstall doesn't help. The last update that I can see had something to do with adding Firefox to Android Devices or something such other.

I've gone to using open-source Chromium 'till I can figure this out.

Am I missing something here, or has Firefox changed something in the About:Config that I might need to change back?

What version? The latest has cert checks that might stop some items from displaying.

I've got 37.0.1 on the Linux and the Windows .. Both hang but Windows not as bad. A lot of trouble loading Google stuff .. Still trouble loading https related on other sites. And here's something I noticed .. I start out with a site that might have Google type https elements, and it hangs - I open tab #2 and go to a http site, and the http site won't load until the first tab loading the https elements is done .. so now I have two tabs hanging till Firefox figures out what it needs to do .. I think it's shaking hands (or wringing them) more than it needs to.

Not sure what to make of it really.

In order to be sure that I hadn't missed something, I pulled a totally clean install on an Ubuntu box and had the same trouble with the browser .. I'm wondering if the boys over at Mozilla didn't bone something when they went for that so-called altsvc fix the other day .. either way, I'm going to have to be stuck with Chromium 'till they get it all sorted out

Okay, here is what I came up with.

Upon after searching and searching, I came across something another guy did with his Firefox when it became as slow as a brick.

Go to "about:config"

Search for "network.http.pipelining" change from "false" to "true"

next

Find "network.http.proxy.pipelining" change from "false" to "true"

Then search for network.dns and find "network.dns.disableIPv6" in the list, change it from "false" to "true"

Now Firefox runs at about the same speed as Chromium .. at least for me anyhow.

Cheers

Put the last one back to false, else the "new web" IP addressing will be turned off!

As for the otehrs, see: [kb.mozillazine.org...]

Haven't tried, so can't say... but if you want to mess with the pipelining... might look at this add on from the Mozilla Add on page:

I turned IPv6 back on and installed the plugin.

Didn't know there was such a thing - If I knew a plugin existed for this, I would have installed it a long time ago.
The only other plugin I use is Disconnect and that's about it.

So far so good on the speed tho'

Thanx

Great! Personally I keep FF in default mode so I can see what others see when they download/install ... except for NoScript and BetterPrivacy. Recently installed a font/theme changer because the eyes are getting bad, but for the most part I leave about:config alone ... even gave up trying to get the tabs back where I want them.

Keep us posted!

What I like about Firefox the most is that I can arrange to have cookies and temp/cache delete as soon as I close the browser.
I don't do much with it at all by way of addons or extensions - Before putting on the pipelining I only had Disconnect, and that was it.

The pipelining addon helped considerably. It would be even better if Firefox did something with the IPv6 tho' .. still sort of a drag with that thing enabled.

Not as fast as Chromium or Vivaldi but as soon as either of these provide a way to delete all cookies and cache at the end of each session, I'll probably end up going for it - Seems these two handle whatever IPv6 a little better than Firefox does.

I came to this board to request if anyone has had trouble loading Google based properties in Firefox and looks like I'm not the only one having trouble.

I can almost not even work in google adwords using firefox, I can hardly load multiple pages on other google properties such as youtube, and across the web, adsense pages, google fonts, google analyics websites are slow loading in firefox.

Chrome? A snap, everything works great. I will try the suggestions here but I feel it will not help much, as this trouble is by design.

I really do not want to switch browsers because I feel all my activities will be tracked by google not just the partial "safe browsing" in firefox.
