Firefox error opening links from a CD

I have a strange problem I ran into. I have a exe file made in flash that i have written to a CD. When i run the CD and my exe opens it shows a menu with some links. When i click on the link it opens my defualt browser Mozilla Firefox. The strange thing is that it does not open the page it imediately redirects to the page: <SNIP> some strange Copyright Page. This has happened on multiple computers now that i have tested. This only occurs though when written to the CD. If i run my exe file from my local computer everything goes to the proper links. However on the CD it opens up this Benedict page for some reason. It actually opens up two pages, one blank entitled Untitled and one titled Copyright Website which is the benedict one. Has anyone ever encountered this or may know why it redirects when written to a cd?

Welcome to the forums, ayudame911.

That's a pretty complex situation - but one thing you can be sure of, the browser is going to the link that the .exe wrote into the links on the list. As a first guess, I would suspect some sort of copyright protection in your CD burner software.

Thank you Ted. Yes I believe it's obviously something to do with how the CD is being burned as locally the exe and links work fine. Another strange thing is that if Firefox is currently open and i visit the link it goes to the correct place. However, if Firefox is closed and I click the link and then it opens Firefox it redirects to the copyright site.

I contacted the administrator of that site and he said this: "The only thing that I can think of is that years ago Netscape Server used to ship with a link to my website from their copyright notice when you installed the server, so maybe there is a piece of code somewhere that redirects whenever it thinks there is a copyright issue." This is very bizare and of course the customer I'm creating the CD for needs it to open up in Mozilla.
