Net Transport plugin not working with Firefox

Hi everyone i'm new to the forum and actually found this forum while googling for my problem. I'm sure my problem is nothing major at all and someone will probably be able to help me relatively easily (i'm sure i'm doing something noob-esque).

Anyways, i'm currently using FireFox version 1.0.4 and I downloaded the latest version of Net Transport from XI's homepage, including their plugin which they claim is compatible with all versions 1.X of FireFox.

According to the directions, after downloading the plugin which consists of 3 DLL files, i'm told to place the 3 DLL files in the plugins folder for FireFox. Hence, I followed directions and restarted my FireFox browser however the changes did not take place. I'm expecting that when I right click an object or link in FireFox, there *should* be an option to Download by Net Transport but there is not. Can anyone shed any light on this problem for me? What am I doing wrong? Thanks very much for any input.

Hello ForceFed and welcome to the forums.

I took a look around their official website and I see no mention of FireFox - only Mozilla 1.x which is supported by their Opera plug-in.

Mozilla is not the same browser as Firefox, so my guess is that Firefox is not supported.

Tedster, thanks for the reply. I think you're right. I was thinking Mozilla = Firefox when infact it doesn't. Total bonehead manuever on my part, lol.

That said, can you recommend any download accelerators that are similar to Net Transport as a plugin for FireFox? Where to find it? Many thanks for your help.

There is a FireFox extension, called "DownloadWith" that should open up the possibilities for you:
