SSL Icon in FireFox

SSL Icon crossed out in FireFox browser...

Any ideas why the SSL lock icon in the FireFox browser would be crossed-out (a line through it) but not have any probs in IE?

What SSL are you using? And what level of encryption is it?

It's RC4 128-bit from GeoTrust

Are you getting a message when first accessing the page on IE? The message might say something like: "insecure items on the page, proceed?"

This is the reason you are getting a crossed lock on firefox. It happened to me a couple of weeks ago.

The solution is really simple: if you have the cetificate for www.yoursite.com or yoursite.com stick to the one you have the certificate for.

That means that if you are certified for yoursite.com you can't have any links or images that come or go to www.yoursite.com because these are insecured items.

The moment you remove all insecure items, the moment you will stop receiving this kind of messages on IE and you will get the normal lock on Firefox.

Thanks Spelunker... no, no messages like that and everything is being pulled from same site/server. But, I will check again just to verify. :)
