Firefox - active x and quicktime

Is it not as secure now that flash plug is installed?

I just installed Firefox after reading about it here.
I have two questions,
it propmted me to download a flash plug in but then will not work unless active x is enabled, so I guess it enables it upon installation. Does this make it vunerable the same way IE is then because i have enabled it?

And second it did not even prompt me for quicktime plug in. Just ignored the file and didnt try to load it. I Googled up a few threads and read about "quicktime alternative" but seems its only available fom a few places , not any of the famous well trusted places i usually download from. Anyone tried it yet?

Firefox doesn't use active x, the flash plugin, assuming you got the actual firefox flash plugin, isn't an active x object, it's a normal plugin. There are no security issues I'm aware of that involve flash plugins. The same cannot be said for an uptodate MSIE, see the the latest security alert [theregister.com]
