the total dominance of google is noticable, and I do not know of another european country were Google dominates soooo much!
Your own logfiles tell the truth, much better than any of the Nielsen stats. Of course we need to make sure to evaluate the numbers in logs. Factors to consider are ranking in the engines, if serps in portals are dominated by PPC listings, the type of site and the engines/portals demographics etc.
So how about the total dominance of Google, can other members from Spain/targeting Spain confrim those numbers?
I just have a few?.
maybe there i something i dont see, but the result surprise me because telefonica uses Fast, to get their results, so i would imagine they where high in the score,
and are your numberes before or after google.es where launched,
and as heini ask what kind off people use the site is it people you would expect too speak english, or people how only speak spanish.

ok here goes
little to no impact in the ppc market for this sector
well positioned in almost all the SE
very very wide type of deogrphics for this site,
As mainland Europeans we can only laugh when US folks complain about being dependant on Google.
1 Google 86.28%
2 Yahoo 10.62%
3 AltaVista 0.93%
4 AOL NetFind 0.68%
5 Microsoft Network 0.74%
6 Lycos 0.54%
Hm, I though, and delved a little deeper, discovering that (can't be bothered to work out %, so total visitors):
Google.com = 31,028
es.search.yahoo.com = 2,153
search.msn.es = 1,931
search.yahoo.com = 1,641
buscador.terra.es = 802
google.com.mx = 604
google.com.ar = 433
google.co.uk = 419
search.msn.com = 396
google.cl = 353
google.de = 329
Not sure why the interest from South America, but google.es doesn't even show up! Unless it's not recognised...
BTW, it's a directory site, in Spanish, for businesses in Madrid, Malaga and Barcelona. So fairly targeted :)
I think one of the reasons is the web in Spain is only now in the process of becoming a mass medium.
The countries where internet usage has been high for some years with existing structures and well established players are slightly more resistant to the big G takeover.
That would explain why Scandinavia, Netherland, Germany, and of course US and UK could avoid a total G monoculture.
In the end this development also points out the total failure of the european big guys to understand what's going on.
In generel we're seeing an increase in Google traffic and a decrease in most others. However Yahoo and MSN seems very stable. So the increase in overall traffic comes from additional search volume - primarily from G.
