I was looking for a directory domain name, I stumbled across "one" and I could not believe that this domain was for sale. Of course, I did purchase it and recently, I added some demo content.

Any ideas on my next move or content.

Maybe a rental site?

Thanks in advance.

[edit reason] Site reviews are only handled in the subscribing (paid) member's forum. [/edit]

Not sure why you'd acquire a domain without an idea for its development but, be that as it may, this forum is a "domain forum". We actually have a directory forum and a site review forum, the latter being reserved for paying / subscribing members . . and from what I've seen in terms of the reviews and who contributes it's well worth the price of admission.

P.S. Where have you been for the past decade and what have you been doing in the webdev world? The website URL / domain hardly lends itself to instant brand or site function recognition. This late in the directory game I don't think such identities hold much advantage or promise . . . so I hardly see it as a "could not believe it was available" domain. YMMV.

I have been busy. lol. But, I am here for the expertise. I do agree with you slightly, in regard to the directory, but, offering something others do not is a good attribute.

Still, it's like poring through worldcat, finding that no book exists with title XYZ, and then writing a book to match that title. Why not first write the book, and let the title take care of itself? Domain names become memorable because they're associated with amazing content; content doesn't leap to the fore just because it's located on a domain with a snazzy name.

You are very right. I like the name but can do better with content.

Hee hee, this from the guy with how many domain names in his portfolio? ;)

The challenge is not having an idea, it's pulling together the resources and the action plan to make it happen.

My favorite CEO says, "Ideas are cheap, it's only execution that puts money in your pocket."
