I dread, am bracing myself for, and likely will come to loath and/or banish the future stream of "Have you heard about . . (the latest of the 1,000+ new gTLDs)" threads.

It's gonna get ugly if we have to contend with all the promotional posts from fanboys/fangirls who either are covertly touting the new gTLDs, on behalf of the registrars, or who have speculatively invested in the newest gTLD and want to stir up some interest . . . err, some suckers . . to unload their crap NewgTLDs on for a profit.

I hadn't even heard of it until I just happened to go to my registrar the other day and saw their small promotion for it, I had to look just to find out what on earth .pw was supposed to mean!

Why anyone thinks there is any necessity for all these extensions is beyond me, there are so many available now it's bewildering plus there are so many traditional ones for sale as well.

The acronym WGA* (Who gives a *?) might be apt. There is not as many fanboys/fangirls posting about this though. I think that some of them might have been burned on .co ccTLD.
