Did I register a penalized domain?

Last month I registered a domain which I thought was a good name. It was available and served my purpose. During the last three weeks I have added a dozen or so pages, have had some links pointing to it, but still almost zero traffic to it. I did some digging around and found out that in 2007-08, it was registered by someone else and then given up. I noticed in the wayback machine that no website was ever created; it was just a parked domain. Could this domain have a penalty from Google? Or should I just wait a bit for it to rank?

Has googlebot been by? Is it possible Google thinks the domain is still parked?

Some places people sacrifice chickens and goats etc to "ensure" the success of their websites :)..some places use Feng Shui, others ju-ju or numerology..any snake oil remedy will do to take the money from the marks..making them feel that something has it "in for them"..and that only a sacrifice or money or both..and given to a "Guru" Priest / Shaman..whether in a church , temple or SEO site or forum..fits the human psychology..

Google subtly encourages this way of thinking..if you can get enough people worrying about not "stepping on the cracks in case you might see and impose penalties"..you don't have to watch them so hard to make sure that they are not doing so..:)
