I've got the opportunity to buy a PR5 adult site (with no content)for around a $1000 bucks.

think I should go for it ?

The original owner has bad SEO tactics...the site practically has all pages that end in .php . horrible Title tags...no H1 tags on the whole site.

I'm thinking if I rebuild the site with clean seo pages, it has to make a difference right ?

I've also got the opportunity to keep all current linking partners...to maintain PR rank.

I just don't know. watcha think ?

hmmm... ?

Does a PR5 not dictate a site that could potentially have major SEO success if the pages / site are redone in a seo friendly format ?

if not, what are the hampering factors ?

I'd figure if Google gives them PR5, they are up on the totem poll as is.

You didn't say about the new content/niche that you will build for this domain. If not the same niche, you should not forget that the PR comes from relative adult pages, in order to create a non adult site those links have to be deleted and PR will decrease, IMO I wouldn't spend the money and effort because the domain has been characterized as adult, unless you want to continue in that sector.

I am looking to continue it in the Adult niche.

I'm just unsure how to prevent PR from going down. Since i'll be redoing the pages.

anybody else ?

wouldn't u guys think any adult site with a PR5 alone would be worth it ?

Sometimes just getting to PR5 could take a friggin decade.

Not sure about that. I bought an expired domain 6 months ago, put some content on it and the TBPR was PR5. The content took a day to write up. It had good backlinks and may be a good candidate for feeding a link to other sites.

It's not clear what you want to do with the domain, i.e. build adult content on it or something else, like link to your more established sites. maybe that info will help getting an answer.

the domain never had a specific adult niche. It was just a tube site for the most part.

basically, I was going to make it into another tube site...but one with friendly URL's and optimized keywords.

I'm still baffled by the overwhelming amount of adult webmasters that have big sites...but know NOTHING about seo. (from the way their pages look )

very rare to get a PR5 from an expired domain. lucky ducklin.

I was under the impression the PR got reset when the ownership was transfered ?

BTW good luck hitting the tube market as a adult webmaster myself its a market I wouldn't touch not unless your targeting a very tight niche

Page rank does not refer to domains, refer to pages. PR stays if you respect the current site structure, or at least you need to 301 redirect to new urls. What about the link profile? is it solid? u need further research to make sure it's worth it, pr5 does not mean anything, but it may be a very good buy if you know what you're doing
