TechCrunch reports sale of Marijuana.com to General Canabis Inc.

TechCrunch [techcrunch.com ] is reporting the acquisition of Marijuana.com for $4,200,000.00.

I guess IF the U.S.A./world ever gets rational about the place for marijuana in society, such as decriminalizing possession of small amounts and treating consumption the same way alcohol/legal narcotics are treated (busted for moving violations, etc.) THEN this multi-million domain acquistion will likely be one of the savviest ever recorded.

Whatdaya think? Good move? Good price? Great brand? Time for some weed or stoner jokes?

Are the executives smoking a bit too much product?

In the meantime, they'll have to make do with targeting the rest of the world.

It will be an interesting one to watch.

3.5 million page views per month is pretty good for $4.2 million. Even if you get $0.005 per view it will add up quickly.

At least they bought a user base and not just a domain name.

There are already places in the world where Marijuana is legal or de-criminalised.

And if they are doing $400K+ per month in revenues on their current domains then it does look like a good buy which could very easily generate the extra revenue that would cover its purchase price.

That's pretty BIG news in the industry. This positions General Cannabis Inc. as the 800 Pound Gorilla.

That price might have been a little too high at $4.20 Million.
