Expired Domain Status

When does it become unlocked

There's a domain that I want that expired in early June. It's WHOIS status is listed as "locked". I would have thought it would have been changed by now. How long does it take to become "unlocked".

In the meantime, I've placed a backorder on name jet. This is the first time I've ever had to do that. Can you all estimate about how long it will take before I know if I get the name or not?

Innovate you should be able to log into your account and namejet usually has a date by the domain when it will go into auction, but from your post the time should be really close to being up for it to go on the chopping block.

Just an update in case anyone else searches. Namejet doesn't change the status until around 4-5 days before it's going to be deleted. Only then can you see the date it will drop.
