I have just been trying a few searches on Dmoz

The results are non existant

Try a search for web designers

I am getting one page of results only for Trinidad & Tobago

Search database last updated on: Fri Oct 24 06:48:48 EDT 2003

Anyone else seeing this?

DMOZ is up but the search functions don't work for me too. Just shows some cats but not the sites :(

The search results are only returning categories and not listings for individual sites - I think the search database is currently being updated.

Ahh - ok - that might explain why your script isn't working either. I just went to dmoz and did a search - I am not used to using pure dmoz and got some results, but didn't look to see they were just cats.

I assumed that down meant not working at all.

Search is misbehaving, but the directory is there.

I just was trying to do a search on ODP this afternoon and evening for gardening, and it keeps turning up invalid search results. In the past, it has listed sites with the term gardening along with categories with gardening in them above the sites. Now, it is returning Sports categories and non-gardening related ones as well as no individual sites. I tried a few other words with the same problems. Is anyone else having a problem with ODP searches acting strangely?

Thanks and Have a Blessed Day

The search function is playing up at the moment. I assume someone has reported it to DMOZ techies.

They (probably pluralis maiestatis) seem to be on it.

My guess: since on past form the new RDF will be finished some time on Wednesday, and as search is not an essential function of the dmoz site, the search index probably won't be rebuilt with the previous RF dump, i.e. before Wednesday.

The dmoz.org search function seems to be up again.
