I run a very popular site. It's a small niche, but I have 100% (pretty much literally) market penetration in my chosen audience.
In a nutshell it's a sports site, and each person has their own page showing lots of statistics etc.
I want to add the ability for anyone using the site (who already has a page) to create a blog on their page. I'll display it under a separate tab.
My instinct is to custom-code something, as I like to keep things simple and know wordpress is massively more complicated than what I need. I'd rather make something very very simple that allows paragraphs, italics/bold/bullets/headings/links and images, and that's about it I think.
Anything off-the-shelf you'd recommend?
Users currently have no way of logging into my site. I've ideas of things I'd like to add once I give people logins, but at the moment I've intentionally steered away from that as I know logins put people off. What I'm trying to say is that there's no existing login system that a blog would need to tie in with - but going forwards I would like to use the blog login to allow users to do other things as well, if you see what I mean...
I also need to consider what I do for users that have their own site/blog already - either let them embed it on my site, or just put a link through to their site, or force them to duplicate content if they want to post on my site too.
Thanks for your advice!
