WordPress and update ping services

How do update services work with scheduled posts?

I use WordPress and am used to schedule the posts.
What I need to know about scheduled posts is when WordPress sends out a ping through ping services -- added in the ‘Update Services’ page of WordPress cpanel -- that automatically ping when you add a post.

Example: today April 7th I’m writing a new post and scheduling it to get it published April 12th.
Does pinging happen April 7th or April 12th?

I'm not familiar with WP, but blog platforms I've used will ping when the post is published live. (April 12th in your example.)

An easy way to test would be to put up a scheduled dummy post and see if it shows up on your RSS feed.

Thanks bill.
I tested with Rss feed. It doesn't show up.
However I don't know if this test is enough.

I had heard one of the failings of WP is it will ping when you add the post, not when the post is published live.
That would be a major problem because I am used to add many posts in one time. As a consequence of that, if SE are alerted when I add posts in one time they could think I'm spamming.

Your post will ping on April 12th, I'm too using scheduled WP plug-in and automatically updating pings. You can easily check if ping works - ping it manually to one same service then your post will be published (not scheduled) and see what's happens - I tried it by myself and always getting message from most pings services "you already ping this blog or it pinged automatically thru wordpress exmp." or something.
