Need advice for Wordpress

meta tags, number of articles on home page

I wonder about two things:

Should I maintain meta tags for blog's home page kind of general or adjust based on the articles that are on the home page?

Home many articles you keep on the home page before they go away as the new ones are coming in?

The Meta tag for Home page should be general to help in SE rankings in long term.

I keep the number of posts around 3 with max up to 5 to avoid really long scrolls.

I prefer not to put whole articles on the home page, just excerpts, preferably unique, and have the full article only in one place.

Meta tags are not taken into consideration by Google in ranking. If you mean meta keywords, then forget about them for ranking, relevance or any of that.

Meta description is not taken into account for ranking either, but it will sometimes be shown as the text after the title in the SERPS, so you would want a meta description for your homepage that gives an overview of the site.
